Toutes les graines ne seront pas dispersées, il suffira qu'une seule trouve le bon environnement pour assurer et multiplier son espèce ».
Si l'Italie avait d'avantage cru dans ce message, aujourd'hui elle serait moins essoufflée. Elle pourrait compter sur une agriculture à l'avant-garde et sur un tourisme de haut niveau, sur la science et sur l'éducation.
Mais il n'est jamais trop tard pour reprendre « le chemin de saint Jean ».

Con le sue opere continuò l'opera paterna: "So che più spesso parlerò al vento. Ma anche le piante affidano al vento i loro semi, supremo scopo della loro vita. Non tutti i semi saranno dispersi, basta che uno solo trovi un ambiente propizio per assicurare e moltiplicare la specie".
Se l'Italia avesse creduto di più in quel messaggio oggi sarebbe meno affannata. Conterebbe su un'agricoltura di avanguardia e su un turismo di alta qualità, su scienza ed educazione. Ma non è mai tardi per riprendere "la strada di San Giovanni".
